I have been in the education profession for over 15 years. My primary certification areas are in Secondary Math and Special Education. I have always had a passion for helping others and giving them the skills they need to empower themselves. However, over the years, I have sacrificed much of my talents and energies with very little to show for it. I continue to love what I do as a teacher, but I have been traumatized by how I have been treated as a teacher of color by professionals who claim to share the same passion I do for the students.

This blog serves as a form of therapy for me, as I continue to sail through the uncertain waters that are my teaching career. I hope that my story can help other teachers and those who aspire to pursue a career in education to protect their physical and mental well-being while charting their educational career.
